Hats for Alex

On December 8, 2005, my best friend lost her 6-month-old son Alex to injuries caused by his day-care provider. We are knitting hats to give to Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE to thank them for caring for him while he fought for his life.

Hats for Alex Contest

The fabulous Weezalana has taken the Hats for Alex project to her (very sweet and generous) heart and is running a little contest to help me meet the goal of 250 hats for this year.

You can see all the details (and the prizes she is offering) here, but let me just say this - Yarn Pirate sock yarn and Entrelac Dangle-free stitch markers. And all you have to do is send three hats before October 31, enclose a note letting me know you want in on the drawing, and give us an email addy to contact you.

I'll keep the running tally updated here, and I am post-dating this blog post for the end of the contest so that it stays as the top post. Just email me, and I'll let you know where to send the hats.

Again, thank you all for helping me make this project a success.

I would love to make some hats, but for some reason my computer won't let me e-mail you! Do you accept crocheted hats as well? I already have some made up.
